RENA and Hortilux work together on sustainable lighting for horticulture

When searching for a reliable partner for the production of 3 new innovative luminaires, lighting specialist Hortilux – who develops, manufactures and installs supplemental lighting systems for the horticultural industry – came across RENA. RENA is the party to call when it comes to developing and producing lighting and electronics for any OEM company.

From that moment on in 2015 RENA Electronica en Hortilux are partners. Hortilux develops a.o. sustainable and efficient LED lighting for greenhouse horticulture. RENA is responsible for production and assembly of the HORTILED product family.

Advantages of LED lighting

Over the last couple of years, an increasing number of greenhouses switch to LED fixtures or a hybrid system of HPS and LED as growing lights for their crop production and that is not surprising at all: the advantages are numerous compared to purely conventional HPS lighting.

For example, LED lights only use 2/3 of the energy needed. This is a very interesting option for growers, especially in countries with high energy prices.
