Vacancy: Embedded Software Engineer

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you ensure the timely development of our software and its quality. You are responsible for the software development process, the quality, delivery and the architecture of the software.

You are also actively involved in software and system developments and initiate improvement processes. You follow the latest technical developments in the market that are relevant and you translate these into improvements of the RENA development environment. You effortlessly work together with the other departments within RENA. In addition to internal contacts, you maintain contacts with our (inter)national clientele.


Your job

  • You develop embedded software, within the quality standards and timelines;
  • You are the first point of contact and senior knowledge partner in the field of (embedded) software;
  • You are actively involved in software and system developments and initiate improvement processes;
  • In cooperation with the team you are responsible for the software development process, quality and architecture;
  • In cooperation with the team you converge on a straightforward solid design from product requirements;
  • In cooperation with the clients you coordinate technical requirements as the design converges;
  • You work together with other departments within RENA and maintain contact with (inter)national customers.

 

You are

  • You have a higher vocational education/academic working and thinking level with regard to embedded system development;
  • You have at least 5 - 7 years of work experience as a Software Engineer; with several years of experience in embedded software;
  • You have excellent bare metal C (or Rust) programming skills, preferably with a computer science background;
  • Experience with STM32 based electronics is an advantage;
  • You have solid knowledge of hardware and understand the interface between hardware and software;
  • You can work independently as well as in a team and you are able to coach your colleague  junior Software Engineers;
  • You are interested in setting up a good software environment (everything needed to build reliable software for the customer);
  • You have a broad interest and knowledge of the field;
  • You have a drive to deliver products that meet the requirements of a production environment;
  • You are hands on and able to look beyond the boundaries of your function;
  • You have good communication skills;
  • You have a good knowledge of the Dutch or English language, both verbally and in writing.
