Vacature: Senior Hardware Engineer

As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you ensure the timely development of our hardware and its quality. You are responsible for the hardware development process, defining cost effective hardware architecture and realizing the hardware design in close cooperation with the hardware team. You are also actively involved in hardware and system developments and initiate improvement processes as leader of the hardware improvement team. You follow the latest technical developments in the market that are relevant, and you translate these into improvements of the RENA development environment. You effortlessly work together with the other departments within RENA. In addition to internal contacts, you maintain contacts with our (inter)national clientele.


Your job

  • In this position you are part of the Engineering team.
  • You coordinate the technical requirements with the client and team members.
  • You are responsible for the hardware development process, quality, and architecture.
  • You are able to translate customer requirements into technical specifications, leading to innovative solutions in collaboration with internal and external customers.
  • You have extended knowledge within the field of hardware design, minimum in one of the fields of power electronics or digital- or analogue electronics.
  • You work together or independently on various hardware projects in parallel.
  • You develop or support realization of schematics and PCBs in Altium.
  • You take the lead in compiling technical documentation.
  • You ensure that your design can be tested and put into production in an efficient and structured manner, taking into account the (inter)national requirements.
  • You are responsible for monitoring and controlling the Life Cycle Management of the components used in our designs, in cooperation with our component engineer.
  • You are responsible for creating and maintaining hardware building blocks that the other engineers will use.
  • Supervising jun. and med. hardware engineers and any interns present.
  • Knowledge transfer to the jun. and med. hardware engineers.

 

You are

  • In possession of minimum a bachelor's degree in Electronics.
  • You have at least 5-8 years’ work experience in a dynamic R&D environment.
  • You have a higher vocational education/academic working and thinking level with regard to hardware system development.
  • You have enough knowledge of software to understand the interface between hardware and software.
  • You have demonstrated experience in PCB design for analogue/power electronics, knowledge of Altium is a plus.
  • You are in possession of up-to-date knowledge of product development, cost optimization and design for production.
  • You have knowledge of Design reviews, FMEA and Reliability is a plus.
  • You have experience in PCB proto creation, modification, and testing.
  • You have a pragmatic view and work systematically.
  • You are a communicative strong person who likes to work together with a team towards a common goal.
  • Skilled in the Dutch and English language in word and writing.
