A very impressive piece of art, designed and developed by Studio Roosegaarde was revealed end of August at the renewed Departure Hall 3 of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. While you are walking from the check-in counter to security control you experience a special 3D effect, created with the idea in mind of "feet on the ground, head in the sky".
With its length of close to 100 meter, the dynamic 3D-effect of clouds against a blue sky and its 160 billion (!) pixels BEYOND provides a unique experience to the travelling visitor. The images are clearly inspired by the Dutch masters of painting from the 17th century.
RENA has contributed to this project with customized LED-panels and our Bits2Power lighting controls system. The opportunity was given to us by Daan Roosegaarde's studio and installed earlier this year, awaiting the official opening of the fully renovated departure hall of Terminal 3.
