During the ASMPT Technology Days in Munich, our colleagues Ralf Maas, Jochem Winkelman and Bas van Beers were updated on the most recent possibilities and innovations in the field of Smart Industry and software. In the ASMPT Center of Competence they attended various interesting workshops and presentations.
RENA has been part of ASMPT's Smart Network for some time now. The approach of the Smart Network is to regularly brainstorm with a network of our colleagues from all over the world about everything related to Smart Factory. This will help us to stay updated and continue to have the best state-of-the-art SMT production lines at our facilities in Zundert.
We are also a sparring partner for ASMPT and we are regularly allowed to test new innovations in our own Smart Factory. 'Something we - as a small company - can be proud of among the bigger players', says Ralf Maas, Process Engineer and Teamlead PCB Assembly at RENA.
Unfortunately, physical meetings such as the Technology Days have been postponed a few times during Covid. Ralf says: 'It was extra nice to catch up after a long time. It felt like coming home. During the Technology Days we were given the opportunity to pick up new ideas and to be informed about what is going on, so that we can see what we can apply at RENA. ‘What is remarkable about this edition is that it mainly focused on software innovations. Smarter production, data generation and remote/smart industry are clearly important topics for the coming years.'
Due to the good relationship with ASMPT, the lines are very short, which certainly helps us compared to other parties. Thanks to our partnership, we are informed of updates sooner and we can come to solutions more quickly.
In addition to inspiring workshops and presentations during the Technology Days, it was especially nice to speak to the people behind ASMPT in real life again. ‘You really come home with new energy,’ says Ralf. ‘We noticed that immediately in the car; during the 9-hour drive, the three of us brainstormed almost continuously.’
